  How it works

This exclusive, application-based program has a competitive selection process. Selected teams will be matched with experienced mentors and investors who serve as mentors. Our mentors are dedicated to helping businesses scale, giving customized feedback to make your venture more compelling to early-stage investors. All teams receive one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to review key milestones.

Over the course of two semesters, students can earn six credit hours as you prepare to raise pre-seed and seed stage funding by engaging in a mid-program pitch practice followed by a culminating final pitch event. You'll have the opportunity to network with an active investor community, including InvestU, that supports the entrepreneurial ecosystem at ASU.

  What will I learn?

You'll have access to a suite of trainings, webinars, and bootcamps equipping you with critical skills for improving your venture and funding success. This series covers topics like communication tools, storytelling frameworks, customer discovery, and minimum viable product development. We'll also help you develop and distribute high-impact content aligned with investor expectations, such as investor briefs, pitch narratives, founder profiles, and portfolio storytelling.

Who is this program for?

The W. P. Carey School of Business Accelerator program is designed for ASU-affiliated entrepreneurs, including ASU undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, staff,  and postdocs. We encourage participants from the New Venture ChallengeVenture Devils, and the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps) to apply. External teams are also welcome to apply.

  Independent study available to students

Undergraduate and graduate students without their own entrepreneurial ideas can support ASU-affiliated startups in a consulting role as Business Designers through an independent study. Interested students must submit an application for independent study. Those who successfully fulfill the requirements can earn three or six credit hours.

Students on a selected student entrepreneur team will be matched with mentors, business designers, and our support staff. Your deliverables will be tied to the W. P. Carey School of Business Accelerator program milestones.

Individual students can apply to assist our startups for independent study. You'll provide hands-on support for the startups and will be evaluated based on venture milestones, mentor feedback, and pitch participation.
